An Integrative Approach to Treating Mental Illness
with Dr. Jingduan Yang, M.D.

We are extremely pleased to have as our speaker Dr. Jingduan Yang. Dr. Yang will be speaking to us on an integrative approach to treating mental illness. He will give us an overview of the work being done at the Myrna Brind Center for Integrative Medicine at Jefferson Hospital. This approach includes Medications, Nutritional Supplements, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture and Neuro-emotional Techniques in therapy.

Jingduan Yang, MD, completed his training in Neurology in China and in psychiatry at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He was a research fellow in clinical psychopharmacology at Oxford University in the United Kingdom. Following family tradition, he has been a teacher and practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine. Currently, he practices integrative psychiatry and general health care based on a bio-social-psycho-spiritual model of medicine at the Jefferson–Myrna Brind Center for Integrative Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He has been invited to speak on Falun Gong, alternative and complementary medicine by Harvard University, Lehigh University, Baylor College of Medicine, and many other academic institutions.
