Co-Occurring Disorders

The needs of clients with co-occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders differ significantly from those with a single diagnosis. Kevin Drab will provide an overview of the characteristics and unique problems of “dually diagnosed” individuals, and introduce the participants to approaches used in working with this population..

Kevin Drab, Kevin Drab, M.Ed., M.A., LPC, CAC Diplomate, is Assistant Professor and Associate Director in Drexel University's Behavioral & Addictions Counseling Sciences B.S. Program in the College of Nursing and Health Professions. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Chemical Abuse Certification Board (PCACB), and co-chair for the committee developing a state credential for clinicians working with people with co-occurring disorders. Kevin has worked in the psychiatric and substance abuse fields for more than 22 years and brings a wealth of experience and study to the subject of co-occurring disorders. He is a highly regarded clinical trainer, known for his informative and entertaining presentations.
