On Tuesday, October
3, we will have Xavier Amador, Ph.D.,
author of “I’m Not Sick-I Don’t Need Help!”
present his LEAP (Listen-Empathize-Agree-Partner)
training program at Montgomery County Community College,
Blue Bell Campus, Science Center.
LEAP teaches participants
a set of evidence– based practices to help persons with
mental illness that are either non-compliant, or only partially
compliant, become fully engaged in treatment (medication,
psychotherapy, psychosocial, occupational rehabilitation,
etc.)
The workshop will be held from 10 AM to 3 PM and will include
lunch. Family members, consumers and professionals are welcome
(we are currently pursuing the opportunity to offer CEU’s
for social workers, counselors and psychologists).
There is no charge for this training.
