NAMI PA Montgomery County Mental Health Month 2007-

"Walk Beside Me" Mental Health Walk

I wants to share the pictures I took at this weekends Walk Beside Me march in Norristown.

Raymond Federici.

My brother was this years Grand Marshal.
Several years ago I had the opportunity to bring them to our county courthouse in West Chester where they preformed a skit called "the Wall".
In that performance a wall of cardboard bricks, each brick written with a word: anger, isolation, depression until a wall is formed between the performer and the audience.
Then the skit talks about recovery and treatment, and slowly each brick is removed and used to create steps the bricks are turned over and new words appear like friendship, hope, community.
The Lehigh county CST provided music after the march ended at Elmwood Park. They also performed some new stigma skits.
