On July 2, 2006, the House and Senate passed the $26 billion plus state
budget - H.B. 2499. The budget held most spending at limits comparable
to last year, with basic education receiving a 5.9% increase in funding.
The budget and tax package included $297 million in business tax cuts
and contained no tax increases.
