Family-to-Family Teacher Training
This training is designed for individuals who have taken the Family to Family course and are interested in teaching the course in the future.

Peer to Peer Instructor Trainings
This 3 day training is designed to educate consumers to be mentors for consumers in healthy living with a mental illness. Applications must come through the affiliate to the state office. Note: a three member team is required to teach Peer-to-Peer.

This training teaches consumers how to present to public groups about insight into the hope and recovery now possible for people with severe mental illness by people who have been there.

Support Group Facilitator Training
This three day training teaches participants how to operate a support group differently than other, more traditional "share-and-care" groups. The NAMI Support Group model offers a set of key structures and group processes for facilitators to use in common support group scenarios. These structures come with clear guidelines to follow; used together, they encourage full group participation in support group meetings.

Families in Crisis Teacher Training
This NAMI National Pilot Program is designed for families with children up to the age of 20 in crisis.

Education Courses for NAMI members and the public:

• Family to Family- a 12 week program for family caregivers of individuals with severe brain disorders (mental illnesses). Pre-register online
• Peer to Peer- an 9 week program offering free mentoring by consumers for consumers in healthy living with a mental illness. Pre-register online
• In Our Own Voice- a unique presentation that offers insight into the hope and recovery now possible for people with severe mental illness--presented by people who have been there. Pre-register online

Support Groups:

• Caring & Sharing- NAMI support groups available through all of our affiliates to provide direct support for family, friends and loved ones affected by mental illness. Check with your local affiliate for meeting times and places, or click here for the monthly calendar of meetings.
• NAMI C.A.R.E.- a peer based, mutual support group program for individuals facing the challenges of recovering from any mental illness. Please click here for the brochure.

For Professionals and Organizations:

• Provider Training- The NAMI Provider Education Program is a 10-week course that presents a penetrating, subjective view of family and consumer experiences with serious mental illness to line staff at public agencies who work directly with people with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Provider Education helps staff at provider agencies understand the hardships that families and consumers endure, while helping them appreciate the courage and persistence it takes to find ways to reconstruct lives. • Forensics & the Criminal Justice System- NAMI PA works with agencies to tailor trainings to their needs, both in content and length of program.
  • The PA Forensics Interagency Task Force brings together statewide community organizations, law enforcement and governmental agencies responsible for and interested in forensic issues and programs on mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse issues.
  • Mental Health Courts are proliferating around the country. There are currently at least 80 in existence, with more in the planning stage.
  • Federal and State Legislation empowers communities to implement forensics programs.
  • Criminal Justice Training for professionals in the field is offered by NAMI Pennsylvania.
